Using the Cartwall

From mAirListWiki

Although the Cartwall is optional, most stations use it. This page describes the Cartwall controls and the Trigger feature.

This page is currently under development.

What's a Cartwall?

Between about 1960 and 1990, every 'serious' radio station used cart players for jingles, ads., sound effects, and in some cases, music playout. As its name implies, the Cartwall in mAirList is the modern, digital replacement for these 'love-hate' pieces of now-antique technology. Image:NABPlayers.png

Triggers

If you set Triggers on a cart, starting that cart will also Start, Fade, or Stop one or more other carts in the Cartwall. This is extremely useful for beds which end with a sting, or for starting several carts (like a bed and a dry vocal announcement) simultaneously. Best of all, Trigger settings are saved in Cart Set files, so you can set them up and then save them to use again later.

To Add, Change, or Remove a Trigger:

  1. Right-click the cart you want to set a Trigger on
(the cart you will start by clicking it).
  2. Click Triggers… in the menu.
  3. Select the carts you want to Start, Stop, or Fade by checking or unchecking the items in the Trigger menu.

Any cart which has any Triggers set on it will show TRIGGER in its Player in the Cartwall.
